Made right here in South Australia, the Tow Pro Elite V3 is a must have if you are towing a trailer, caravan, camper trailer, boat trailer or horse float which is fitted with electric brakes.

The brake controller is designed to activate the brakes on the trailer and control the amount of braking you want your trailer to be doing with just the twist of a dial.

There are the numbers 0 to 10 on the bottom of the dial – 0 being nothing to 10 being full lock (the heavier the load the more braking you may need to apply).

Depending on which style of driving you are doing, the Tow Pro Elite V3 has two handy modes.

1. “Proportional Mode” mostly used for highway driving. The dial is set to match the load, then activated by sensing inertia from how hard you apply the brakes on the vehicle.
2. “User Controlled Mode” is mostly used for off-roading. When 4wheel driving on steep inclines or driving in mud or sand you may need a manual way of adjusting when and how much braking you want the trailer to be doing.

The Tow Pro Elite V3’s stand out feature is its “Manual Override Function“. – Where at just the push of a button can easily and efficiently apply the caravan brakes, independently of the vehicle to bring a swaying trailer back in line.

This is a very important safety component when navigating our Aussie highways, dirt roads or off-road tracks.

How does the brake controller and brakes on the trailer communicate?

The brake controller is powered by the vehicle and meets the trailers electric brake system through connecting a 7pin or 12pin trailer plug  (electric brakes use pin number 5 of an Australian trailer plug).

If there is no trailer connected or a trailer that does not have electric brakes is attached, the brake controller will sit dormant.

Will the controller be visible in the vehicle?

The unit itself is compact and small enough to be hidden usually behind the dash.

You will only see the dial in the cabin which will be placed in an accessible location for the driver. – This position will vary on the layout of your specific vehicle interior, before install our experienced fitters will be able to show you the recommended location of where the dial will be placed.
